Meet your Stylist
"For me, understanding the make-up of each and every element we put on our hair is key to achieving the desired results."
My name is Lisa Raymond and thank you for visiting the
L Raymond Styles website. This page is to give background information on me and to share the vision of this hair salon with you.

From the very beginning I was in love with styling and enhancing hair. My Barbie dolls and siblings all received lovely makeovers compliments of a 5-year-old hairstylists infinite wisdom; braids, bows, barrettes and magic marker colors. Fast forward 9 years (and many hair adventures) later to the day City Slickers Hair Salon in New York offered me a Stylist Assistant position; I was also accepted into an exclusive Cosmetology school. I guess you could say this is where my career 'officially' began.
While working as an assistant in a busy, high end salon and attending Cosmetology school, I gave myself one goal: to learn everything possible about hair care and the field to which I had always been drawn. I started with the simple things like shampoos and products, analyzing what was in them and how they interacted with different hair types. I then moved onto the components of hair color and other advanced hair services offered to clients. For me, understanding the make-up of each and every element we put on our hair was, and is, key to achieving the desired results. In one short year I moved into a Junior Stylist position and immediately began to build a following. |
During my year as a Junior Stylist I had the great fortune of meeting an accomplished stylist who drastically changed my professional life. He introduced me to the fashion world. At 16 years old I was hired as a regular stylist for House of Style and their Manhattan fashion shows and photo shoots. This is when my love for, and dedication to, hair and all its possibilities was truly realized. A color isn't a color without the right shade for your eyes and skin tone. A cut is nothing without the right frame for your face shape or the right attitude to wear it. A style isn't a style unless it's your style. The vision of L Raymond Styles was born.
L Raymond Styles became official in 1999. For the next eight years I continued to work in the fashion industry while freelancing and developing as a Bridal Stylist. I also continued my work and education in salons offering all hair services.
In 2007 I relocated to Denver, CO where I continued to work closely with clients and their cuts and colors, brides and their wedding parties, as well as introducing myself to fashion and photo shoot prep in my beautiful new state. I devoted the remainder of my time to managing a Highlands salon that was new to the community. Soon L Raymond Styles Hair Salon had it's very own space. This is the vision I have always, and will always, continue to work toward and would like to share with you.
